Jiao Lian's opening speech , "I declare the event open." On 8th January 2011, Sneakers held our annual get together at a function room in CCAB, and we celebrated to the theme of "From the Pages." The theme brought people, personalities and characters from books, comic, and the pop culture. We also held our biannual election and a new committee is formed, and we look forward to the new committee bringing new milestones to Sneakers.

Dear all,
We had our annual dinner at CCAB on the 8th and the theme 'From the pages' was interpreted in a most interesting way by many. Sneakers netballers evolved into interesting characters with some more daring than others. We had Hollywood stars resurrected from the dead - namely Marilyn Monroe and Charlie Chaplin and current stars like Lady Gaga and Katy Perry who graced us with their attendance.
Of course the annual dinner was also privy to a host of other famous characters like Jack Sparrow (Ting i mentioned you!), the three blind mice, cat-woman (bugger who stole the award i wanted!) and many more...
I'm sure everyone had a lot of fun since the finalists for best dressed basically made a fool of themselves. Anna and Ting kept everyone entertained with their ability to talk to themselves when no one was paying attention which made us all have to somehow pay attention.
Needless to say, there will always be copious amounts of food at every sneakers event and yesterday's event proved to be the same.
It is never easy to organise an event and I'm sure everyone would agree that the organising comm did an excellent job. Kudos to Yeeleen's batch! heh.
I guess it is only appropriate and right to thank everyone for having made the time to turn up. Sneakers has always been about bonds, friendships and challenges. 2010 was a trying year for the club with dwindling attendance and challenges in NSL and ENL. Thankfully, the bonds formed were strong enough. Please remember that the onus lies on each and everyone of us to ensure that the club continues to run. Get the people closest to you to come down for a run. Catch up at the sidelines for this lovely game is the reason why many of us crossed paths.
Most importantly, thank you to Jiao Liao for his unwavering support and belief in all of us. Many of us are where we are now because he never gave up on us. Thank you too to Mrs Goh and the Goh kids for sharing the man in your lives with us. heh.
As we say goodbye to 2010 and hello to 2011, a new committee has been elected. Thank you to all the network leaders of 2010. Please help us to disseminate msges for the time-being as we sort out the new network leaders.

The new comm is a mix of old and new and we seek your patience and understanding as we work towards serving you all to our best. Yeeleen and her old comm has done an excellent job and my comm will have big comfy shoes to fill. heh.
Alright everyone, have a HAPPY 2011 and remember to make time for things and people that matter to you. Oh... the juniors, please be shameless and try to know the seniors. Talk to them... the seniors can be pretty shy... after all you young ones are going to be the future of the club :)
